Deconditioning is a bottoms-up approach to the consolidation of thought.
We externalise painful ideas, thoughts and memories in writing while regulating through movement in order to run thought-feeling loops to their conclusions with relative equanimity.
Much of what we export is self image. Who we used to be, who we never were, what our ideal morality is and how we fail to live up to it. Why we feel the need to live up to it in the first place. The fear of death, yet the craving for the respite of non-existence.
We review these before bed in a different font to engage multimodal re-encoding and imprint them into a slightly different location in the brain.
On waking, we export the conception which forms in our minds overnight.
We continue exporting thoughts through the day and review everything again before bed.
Over time these conceptions start to come together into insights, exposed in mild clarity-events as the insight cycle begins to manifest.
As we continue the process, these insights also begin to align and eventually they result in an awakening or a eureka moment.
The majority of consolidation occurs in your sleep; only for the truly vast re-wirings will you decouple from consensus-reality during waking hours.
